From Thursday, June 29 to Friday, June 30, took place the Summer Days 2023, event organised by the European Confederation of Independent Trade Unions (CESI) in collaboration with the Bertelsmann Stiftung & Reshaping Work, and EU Observer as media partner.
Involving two days of interactive workshops and plenary debates on how green transition could have an impact, as well as affect employment and economies across Europe. During the event, experts and representatives from European and international institutions, think tanks, trade unions, the public sector, and companies analysed the social dimension of the Green Deal and the possible best solutions to transform both the digital and green transitions into leverage in terms of decent and sustainable work.
Several have been the workshops proposed during the event. Both rounds of workshops were held by very interesting and expert partners such as the International Labour Organisation, Bertelsmann Stiftung, the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS), the European Commission, European Policy Center (EPC), Reshaping Work, and KLM. During the first round of workshops focused on the transition towards greener economies and labour markets, our TransEuroWorkS project was presented during the session held by our partners from CEPS titled “Green Transition across the EU: What Member States need to know”.
More in detail, TransEuroWorkS is an innovative and multi-level research project providing analysis and policy recommendations for the future world of European work and social protection. It aims to provide new understandings of how changes to the labour market and European context can be better and more proactively managed, especially after the unprecedented structural changes faced by the labour market due to digitalisation, automation, the internationalisation of the workforce, and the transition towards a green economy.
